Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN - Chemo for an outpatient oncology infusion clinic in Matthews, NC. Requires chemotherapy administration experience, active NC license, BLS, and ONS Chemo/Bio card with two years of oncology RN work. Central line and Epic charting are required.

Position features day shifts (8 hours, 7:45 AM–5:15 PM), no weekend or on-call duties, and potential float between two nearby clinics ~20 minutes apart. Scrubs are navy blue; stethoscope must be brought.

Qualifications

• Active NC or Compact RN license (pending licenses OK)
• BLS certification required
• ONS Chemo/Bio card required; OCN preferred
• Minimum 2 years oncology RN experience
• Central line experience required
• Experience administering chemotherapy and IV therapy/infusions
• Central/implanted line care experience
• Epic charting experience
• Must bring own stethoscope
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years

Responsibilities

• Outpatient cancer institute infusion clinic setting.
• Treats adult hematology and medical oncology patients 18+.
• Unit has 10 infusion chairs to accommodate social distancing.
• Patient ratio of 1:5.
• Day shift schedule, 8-hour shifts, 7:45 AM to 5:15 PM.
• No weekend requirement; No call requirement.
• May float between two nearby clinic locations ~20 minutes apart.
• Uses Pyxis, Epic, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
• Administer chemotherapy and manage infusion therapy for oncology patients.
• Pre-shift COVID screening per facility policy.
• Unit orientation and hospital orientation as per policy.
• Scrubs: navy blue scrubs required.
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at reduced rate.

• Unit orientation is 8 hours and varies by skill level; hospital orientation occurs during week one with mandatory daily class attendance
• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (perm, PRN, or EP) must wait 12 months before applying, with facility approval required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced rate
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units with separate transportation
