Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Oncology for an outpatient infusion center in Illinois. Active IL RN license and ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification are required, with at least 1 year of outpatient infusion/oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities include administer chemotherapy and infusions, handle ports, and collaborate with the team in a 5-chair unit. Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30, no weekends or on-call, with potential travel between centers and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient infusion/oncology experience required.
• Chemotherapy administration experience required.
• Peripheral IV, Port-a-Cath, and PICC line access skills required.
• Strong assessment skills with ability to recognize adverse reactions.
• Comfortable drawing blood from ports for lab work.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient oncology infusion unit within a Same Day Surgery area, featuring 5 infusion chairs.
• Adult oncology patients receiving long-term IV antibiotics, injections, blood and platelet infusions, and chemotherapy agents.
• Average of 10 patients per day, with no chemo patients scheduled after approximately 1400.
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 0800-1630.
• No weekend rotation and no on-call requirements.
• Floating required to two additional infusion centers.
• EPIC EMR preferred but not required.
• Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system.
• Administer chemotherapy, infusions, and injections to adult oncology patients in an outpatient setting.
• Work alongside a shared clinic lead, on-site schedulers, one other infusion RN, and access to on-call hospitalist/ED support and rapid response as needed.
• General facility orientation plus one shift of unit-specific orientation to learn workflow.
• Unit closes on major holidays.
• Up to 7 days of requested time off can be approved.
• Navy scrub color required.
• Free parking available on-site.
• First-time travelers accepted, though experienced travelers preferred.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions.
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before eligibility.
