American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care unit requiring an active MN RN license and 1 year of nursing experience.

Requirements

• Active MN RN license (Standard or Compact) required, pending licenses not accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Previous nursing home experience a plus
• Supervisory skills required for overseeing CNAs/TMAs
• Self-motivated with ability to pass medications independently
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility attached to an acute care hospital with ER, lab, imaging, pharmacy, therapy, and walk-in clinic
• 38-resident facility with private rooms
• Day/evening shift ratio of 1 nurse and 2-3 CNAs to 20 residents; NOC shift ratio of 1 nurse and 2-3 CNAs to 40 residents
• Common diagnoses include COPD, dementia, Parkinson's, MS, and CHF
• Uses Point Click Care (PCC) EMR
• Medications dispensed via blister pack cards with on-site pharmacy
• No IVs or titratable drips, and RNs do not read strips
• Day shift schedule with 8 or 12 hour shift options
• Block scheduling available based on need
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating required
• Physician available after hours
• Responsibilities include medication pass, wound care, foley care, ostomy care, and supervising CNAs/TMAs
• No clinical involvement required for this role
• Scrubs provided by facility
• As many unit-specific orientation shifts as needed will be provided
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility per MN radius requirements
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
• All requested RTO must be submitted upfront, as additional RTO will not be approved after submission
• Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for shorter assignments
