Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Long Term Care unit in Wisconsin. A WI or compact RN license and at least 1 year of long term care experience are required.

Night shifts are 3x12 hours (18:30–07:00) with every other weekend and some holiday coverage. You will provide direct patient care including wound care, IV therapy, and medications in a skilled nursing/rehabilitation setting. COVID vaccination is required.

Qualifications

• Active WI RN license or compact license required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of long term care experience required.
• Experience in rehab, IV therapy, PICC lines, and wound care preferred.
• Must pass a cardiac telemetry exam with adult/pediatric rhythm identification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Long Term Care unit within a skilled nursing/rehabilitation setting.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00.
• Every other weekend rotation with some holiday coverage.
• Patient ratio of 1 RN per hall with a med tech; CNA ratio 1:8-10 days, 1:20 nights.
• Night shift RN assumes charge duties and may be the only RN in the facility.
• Conduct Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), AIDET, and hourly rounding.

• Must pass a cardiac telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm identification

Responsibilities

• Work in a Long Term Care (LTC) unit within a skilled nursing/rehabilitation setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Every other weekend rotation required with some holiday coverage
• Patient ratio of 1 RN per hall with a med tech per hall; CNA ratio is 1:8-10 on days and 1:20 on nights
• Night shift RN assumes charge duties and may be the only RN in the facility
• Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), AIDET utilization, and hourly rounding required for all RN units
• Floating required as needed
• Provide direct patient care including wound care, medication administration, IV therapy, and chronic disease management for a long term care population
• Care for patients with conditions including dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke, COPD, diabetes, and pressure ulcers
• Perform assessments including fall risk, skin integrity, neurological status, and pain management
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Minimize RTO requests, with no RTO permitted during orientation week
• Previous UW Health staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
