Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiology Nurse Navigator RN with a valid California RN license and Epic EMR proficiency to join an academic teaching hospital. The role requires at least 3 years of nursing experience, including 1 year of acute care, and preference for teaching hospital background.

The position follows a day shift schedule (Mon-Wed-Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM) and runs through April 2027. Local candidates are eligible at the same pay rate, with travel experience a plus and references

Qualifications

• Valid CA RN license in-hand at time of application (EMS A not accepted).
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required.
• 1 year of full-time equivalent specialty experience within past 2 years for specialized units.
• Epic EMR experience required and documented in work history.

Responsibilities

• Nurse Navigator role within Cardiology department at an academic teaching hospital.
• Day shift: Mon-Wed-Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• Contract runs through April 2027.
• Requires use of Epic EMR.
• Navigate patients, perform cardiology assessments, interpret EKG/ECG, administer medications, educate patients.
• Duties may include triage, chart preparation, scheduling, and coordinating referrals and imaging results.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate.
• Travelers must have been gone a minimum of 1 year to be eligible to return.
• No RTO permitted within first two weeks; max 7 days RTO per 13-week contract period preferred.
• Manager may choose not to interview prior to placement.

• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required
• At least 1 year of full-time equivalent specialty experience within the past 2 years required for specialized units
• Epic EMR experience required and must be documented in work history
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Two supervisor references required, including at least one from a supervisor, director, or manager within the last year from the relevant unit
