Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit night shift in Albuquerque, NM, requiring cardiovascular experience and an NM or Compact RN license. The unit is a 55-bed cardiac stepdown with a 1:4 patient ratio and a dedicated heart hospital setting.

Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, and use of Epic charting. Travel housing allowances and benefits are provided; BLS/ACLS/ NIHSS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required; pending license accepted if obtained before start.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 2 years RN experience preferred; 1+ years considered
• Cardiovascular experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac drip management
• Experience with sheath removal and post catheterization/cardiac surgery care preferred
• Central/PICC/peripheral line care experience preferred
• Chest tube management and high-flow therapy experience preferred
• IV insulin protocols and wound care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Cardiac stepdown unit in a dedicated heart hospital with a high cardiac patient population
• 55-bed unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:30-07:00) with 36 or 48 hours per week option
• Rotating weekend coverage as needed
• Floating to like units within scope based on facility needs; orientation provided
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide comprehensive cardiac stepdown care including monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Administer IV therapy and manage central and peripheral lines
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius; locals not accepted
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO allowed; no RTO during first week of orientation

• Experience with sheath removal, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and pre/post cardiac surgery care preferred
• Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care preferred
• Experience with chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and IV insulin protocols preferred

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:30-07:00) with option of 36 or 48 hours per week

• Provide comprehensive cardiac stepdown care including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
• Perform respiratory support tasks including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage central and peripheral lines
• Any scrub color accepted as long as it is logo-free
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as locals are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
