American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Rehab Med/Surg unit in Missouri. The role requires a BSN, an active MO State or Compact RN license, BLS and NIHSS certifications, and 1–2 years of nursing experience. ACLS is preferred, with EPIC experience advantageous.

The traveler will handle IV insertions and labs, work night shifts 3x12s, and may be required to float to related units. Open to travel candidates with housing and benefits support.

• Must pass a Basic EKG exam with 80% (2 attempts) and telemetry test.
• EPIC charting system experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse and travel experience preferred.
• Responsible for IV insertions and lab draws during shifts.

Responsabilidades

• Acute Rehabilitation Unit within a hospital setting caring for patients post-acute care requiring therapy.
• Care for post-surgical, post-stroke, CHF, orthopedic and general med-surg patients requiring prolonged therapy.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 days and 1:5–6 nights; non-telemetry unit.
• Night shift 3x12s, 1900-0730; every 3rd weekend and holiday block.

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; first-time travelers considered with 2 years of experience

• Must pass a telemetry test prior to starting
• EPIC experience preferred

• Previous travel experience preferred
• Responsible for performing own IV insertions and lab draws during shifts

Responsibilities

• Acute Rehabilitation Unit within a hospital setting caring for patients discharged from acute care requiring 1+ week of PT/OT/speech therapy
• Patient population includes post-surgical, post-stroke, CHF, orthopedic, and general med-surg patients requiring prolonged therapy
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Non-telemetry unit though patients may occasionally require IVs and lab draws
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday block required during the contract
• Floating required to like units within the hospital at any time
• EPIC charting system used
• Team-based care model working closely with physical therapy and care management teams
• Provide direct patient care including daily activities of living, medication administration, and patient teaching
• Collaborate with physical therapy and care management teams to plan patient discharge upon admission
• Unit is currently expanding with 18 additional beds, creating multiple staffing opportunities
• Must complete all organizational mandatory education and check email regularly for updates
• Schedule is created 6 weeks in advance, which may limit self-scheduling opportunities for incoming travelers
• No smoking or leaving premises during shift
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for standard travel rate
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Extension opportunities likely for strong-fit candidates; conversion to permanent positions possible
