American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in Nebraska. Requires 2 years of RN experience and an active NE or Compact license.

Shifts are 12-hour days/nights with a 50-mile residency requirement. EPIC EMR is used and travel benefits include housing allowance and licensure reimbursement. First-time travelers may be considered.

Qualifications

• Two professional references: supervisor (last 12 months) and peer (last 3 years) with dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Acute care Inpatient Rehab/MedSurg unit with 35 beds at a Level 2 trauma facility
• Care for adults and geriatrics with stroke, SCI, amputation, brain injury, ICU-related illnesses, and neurodegenerative conditions
• 12-hour day and night shifts; 0630-1900 and 1830-0700 with self-scheduling
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 by day, 1:6 by night; aides on unit 1:10-15
• Floating required to MedSurg; no call or standby
• Use of EPIC EMR; no titration of drips required
• Provide direct patient care in inpatient rehab; orientation and exam for skills
• Pass/fail skills exam during orientation (open book, 90% pass)
• Prohibited artificial nails in patient areas
• Weekend obligations at least every third weekend; 2 holidays per contract

• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BSN not required
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Acute care Inpatient Rehab/MedSurg unit with 35 beds at a Level 2 trauma facility
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, brain injury, critical illness, and neurological diseases such as MS and Parkinson's
• Day shift and night shift 12-hour shifts available (0630-1900 and 1830-0700) with cyclic self-scheduling
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Nurse aides/patient care techs on the unit at a 1:10-15 ratio
• Charge nurse present on each shift
• Floating required to MedSurg
• No call or standby requirements
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• RNs are not required to titrate drips, though common drips include antibiotics, anticoagulants, and antiplatelets
• Provide direct patient care within an inpatient rehabilitation setting for complex patient populations
• Classroom orientation plus two 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Pass/fail skills exam given during orientation (open book, 90% passing score required)
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
• Weekend requirement of at least every third weekend
• Holiday requirement of at least 2 holidays per contract
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
• Strong communication, organization, teamwork, problem-solving, compassion, and collaboration skills are valued on this unit
• First-time travelers may be considered
