American Traveler, LLC is hiring an RN for Med/Surg and Inpatient Rehab in Virginia. Active VA or Compact RN license and 1+ year of relevant experience required. BLS and preferred CRRN; CPI Blue highly preferred. Travel-ready with housing and licensure support.

Shifts are 3x12, 7a–7p with 1:6 to 1:7 ratios. Expect weekend work and potential float to sister facilities. EPIC charting experience preferred for efficient patient care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Med Surg unit with 33 beds; patient ratios 1:6 to 1:7
• Care for patients including SCVA, SCI, TBI, amputee, multi-trauma
• Float to nearby Med Surg units if needed
• Provide care requiring cardiac monitoring and rapid response
• Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Work at least 1 holiday per 13-week contract; 2 during winter holidays
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• May require weekend shifts; 3x12 day shifts, 7a-7p

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg and Inpatient Rehab position requiring an active VA or compact RN license and 1+ year of relevant experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA State or Compact) required; single-state license from a non-compact state accepted only if pending
• BLS certification required
• CRRN certification preferred
• CPI Blue certification highly preferred
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience in Med Surg and Rehab settings required
• Skilled in peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration and tanks, and isolation precautions
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• 33-bed adult Med Surg unit without telemetry monitoring
• Patient population includes SCVA, SCI, TBI, amputee, and multi-trauma cases
• 1:6 patient ratios, may flex up to 1:7
• 3x12 day shifts, 7a-7p
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule block
• May be required to float to nearby Med Surg units (11W, 10W, 9W, and 5W) at a sister facility
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Provide care for patients with cardiac monitoring and emergency response needs, including use of rapid response/code teams
• Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy as needed
• Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week contract, with 2 required during winter holiday periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, NYE/New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior travel experience not required
• Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted, with limited exceptions for candidates living 50-99.9 miles away or under 50 miles at a reduced bill rate for a single, non-extendable 13-week assignment
• Previous employees (per diem or permanent) must have a minimum one-year break before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who have worked 365 days on assignment are not eligible to return, subject to case-by-case exceptions by facility leadership
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront with the application
