Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical float assignment in South Carolina. The role requires comfort with occasional critical care patients and an active SC or Compact license.

The position is day shift (3x12s, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM) with every other weekend, travel within hospital and nearby affiliates, local rate eligibility for residents within 50 miles, and some holidays. Housing and licensure reimbursement provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license SC or Compact.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications, NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of recent nursing experience.
• Two supervisory references required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital.
• Float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
• Care occasional critical care patients as needed.
• Day shift 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM).
• Every other weekend (EOW) required.
• Maintain residency within 50 miles for local rate eligibility.
• Work some holidays during the assignment.
• Limit time off requests during the assignment.

• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
• Minimum 3 years of recent experience required
• Two supervisory references required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Comfortable caring for the occasional critical care patient
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) work required
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Expect to work some holidays during the assignment
• Keep time off requests to a minimum, especially avoiding the first two weeks or full calendar weeks off during the assignment
• Any requested time off must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for 5 years before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate
