Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Registered Nurse for night shifts in Minnesota. The role requires 4+ years of RN experience, charge nurse background, and prior travel nursing experience. You will work in a medical-surgical unit with complex patient populations.

Candidates must hold MN RN license or be eligible, possess BLS and ACLS, and be able to use Epic/Excellian charting. This position includes a 3x12 schedule, weekend rotations, and housing support.

Qualifications

• Active or pending MN RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 4 years of RN experience
• Previous charge nurse experience and charge training required
• SCU training required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access/management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with GI, GU/renal, and neuro/psych patient conditions including CVA, TBI, and substance withdrawal
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Candidates must provide date of birth, SSN, and certification copies for consideration

Responsibilities

• Nursing in a Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Care for MS/Tele, ortho, cardiovascular, and plastics patients
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Work 2-3 weekends out of every 6 and one holiday
• Float within hospital or to affiliated facility as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Use Epic/Excellian EMR
• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care across diverse patient populations
• Serve as charge nurse when needed
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• 3-month gap rule for Allina perm staff or per diem employees
• RTO ideally not exceed 5 days
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Pending license candidates will be considered

• Float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic/Excellian EMR
• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care across diverse patient populations including ortho, cardiovascular, and plastics cases
• Serve in a charge nurse capacity as needed
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no exceptions for local candidates
• Previous Allina perm staff or per diem employees must have a 3-month gap since their last shift to be eligible
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days during the assignment
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Pending license candidates will be considered
