Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a rotating day/night shift position requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and a PA or compact RN license. The role involves a busy medical surgical unit, 1:6-7 patient ratios, and potential floating within a 10-mile radius to meet facility needs.

First-time travelers are welcome. Travel pay applies for those living more than 50 miles away. Cerner EMR experience is a plus, with complete compliance and required screenings to start soon.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (PA state or Compact) required at time of consideration.
• BLS certification required (AHA).
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience required.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management.
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy management preferred.
• Experience with GI, GU/renal, and wound care skills preferred.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including rapid response/code team involvement.
• Two supervisor references preferred.
• SSN, DOB, RTO, and valid driver’s license required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit setting.
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7.
• Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, with possible straight night option.
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per contract.
• Possible floating within scope to meet facility needs and to sister facilities within 10 miles.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, depending on unit needs.
• Cerner EMR experience preferred.
• Provide direct patient care across Med/Surg conditions (GI, GU/renal, respiratory, ortho, endocrine).
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rate; local candidates not accepted.
• Willing to float within the hospital as needed.
• Travel pairs may be accommodated; schedules may vary.
• All RTO requests must be submitted at consideration time; approval based on unit needs.
• Available to work every other holiday.
• Former permanent employees not eligible to return through agency for 2 years.
• Travelers must take a 1-year break after cumulative assignments before return.
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing.
• All compliance requirements cleared by the Wednesday prior to start.

• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
• Former permanent employees are not eligible to return through an agency unless separated for at least 2 years
