Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift at a Level 1 Trauma Center. EPIC EMR and telemetry experience are essential, with a focus on orthopedic trauma care and post-surgical monitoring.

The role requires an OH license, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and a willingness to work 4x12 hour nights, with 36 or 48 hour contracts. Travel-ready candidates residing near the campuses will be prioritized.

Qualifications

• Active OH or Compact RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is required.
• Must pass an online EKG competency course.
• EPIC EMR experience is required.
• 1.5+ years in Level 1/2 trauma center preferred.
• Strong orthopedic nursing skill set is required.

Responsibilities

• Care for a 23-bed Medical Surgical Orthopedic unit in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Treat patients with traumatic hip fractures, elective spine surgeries, and other traumatic orthopedic injuries.
• Provide pre/post-surgical orthopedic care including monitors, drains, PCAs, and drips.
• Support general med/surg patient overflow as needed.
• Operate in a team nursing model with RNs, LPNs, and PCTs.
• Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30, 4x12 hour shifts.
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available.
• Work every other weekend and holiday.
• Travelers are first to float per facility discretion, potentially across campuses.
• Navy blue scrubs are required.
• RTO must be requested at submittal; approvals are discretionary.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring EPIC and telemetry/drip experience.

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Must pass an online EKG competency course
• EPIC EMR experience required
• 1.5+ years of experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma center preferred
• Strong orthopedic nursing skill set required

Responsibilities

• 23-bed Medical Surgical Orthopedic unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Cares for patients with traumatic hip fractures, elective spine surgeries, and other traumatic orthopedic injuries
• Provides pre/post-surgical orthopedic care including heart monitors, drains, PCAs, and Ketamine drips
• Also supports general med surg patient overflow
• Unit utilizes a team nursing model with RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partnering to care for groups of patients
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday
• Travelers are first to float at facility discretion, potentially into high-risk respiratory/COVID units or across campuses
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside less than 10 miles from Main Campus and North Campus, or less than 15 miles from Main Campus for local eligibility
• RTO must be requested at initial submittal; no RTO will be added after an offer is extended
• RTO approval is at the manager's discretion
