Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment in Georgia. Candidates must have at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active GA or compact RN license, plus BLS and Epic charting experience.

The role involves 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), patient ratios around 1:6, and routine use of Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation. Travel-ready nurses with Navy blue scrubs are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active GA/Compact RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience is required.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• IV therapy and phlebotomy are required skills.
• Knowledge of blood product administration and line care is needed.
• Central and peripheral line care experience preferred.
• Chest tube management and oxygen therapy knowledge required.
• Renal/ GU skills and heparin/PCA administration experience preferred.
• Wound care, PPE, isolation precautions experience required.
• Cardiac monitoring and rapid response familiarity required.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg unit caring for adult to geriatric patients.
• Night shift 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
• Navigate Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR charting systems.
• Maintain patient safety with SBAR communications and procedures.
• Float within facility as needed and adhere to scope of practice.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory care skills including chest tube management, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration
• Genitourinary/renal skills including continuous bladder irrigation and renal failure management preferred
• Experience with Heparin and PCA medication administration
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including use of rapid response/code teams
• Charge nurse experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Every other weekend work required
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed

• Max RTO of 7 days per contract, with no schedule or RTO requests permitted after offer or during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Full compliance required prior to start; late compliance may delay start due to biweekly orientation schedule
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or not returned to a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment elsewhere before reapplying
