Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float RN for a night-shift float pool position in Georgia. Requires Epic experience and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience. The role features a 3x12 night schedule, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with every other weekend and float coverage to MS/Tele units.

Active GA or Compact RN license and BLS certification are required. Epic charting experience is essential; prior charge experience and teaching hospital or community hospital experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float pool position within Medical Surgical and MS/Tele units
• Adult to geriatric patient population with MS/MS-Tele diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required (average of 6 weekends in a 13-week contract)
• Float to MS and MS/Tele units including a sister campus ~3 miles away
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR charting/communication systems
• Provide direct patient care across Med/Surg and MS/Tele units
• Holiday coverage per assignment period
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• No RTO during orientation week
• First-time travelers welcome
• Local candidates accepted at same rate
• Travelers must be away from all facilities for one year before returning as traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled must complete another assignment before reapplying

• Required to float to all MS and MS/Tele units within the hospital, including possible float to a sister campus approximately 3 miles away
• No on-call requirements

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Provide direct patient care across Med/Surg and MS/Tele units as part of a flexible float pool team
• Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who were previously cancelled or not approved to return must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
