Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel assignment in Georgia. Requires a GA or compact RN license, BLS, 1 year Med/Surg experience, and Epic charting, with strong cardiac monitoring and respiratory care skills.

The 38-bed unit uses remote telemetry and SBAR communication. Shifts are 19:00–07:00, 3x12s, with floating and no on-call requirements, for a 14-week assignment. Navy-blue scrubs are standard attire for this travel role.

Qualifications

• GA or compact RN license required and current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and emergency response is expected.
• Able to work 3x12 hour night shifts (19:00–07:00) and float within the unit.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in a 38-bed Med/Surg unit with average census of 33.
• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support.
• Chart in Epic; use Pyxis and SBAR for communication.
• Work night shifts with potential weekend rotations and holiday coverage.
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed; no calls.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with a GA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience for a night shift travel assignment.

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Experience with rapid response and code teams
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care and management
• Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use
• First-time travelers are accepted

Responsibilities

• Work in a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit with an average daily census of 33
• Care for patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
• Unit utilizes remote telemetry with potential medical surgical diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Charts in Epic and uses Pyxis and SBAR communication systems
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Required to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements
• 14-week assignment length
• Provide direct patient care on a busy Medical Surgical unit including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for emergency situations
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No schedule or shift change requests permitted once assignment begins
• Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year\'s Eve/Day)
• If one or two major holidays occur during the assignment, no holiday time off can be requested
• If three major holidays occur during the assignment, one holiday time off request may be considered
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or are marked DNR by Piedmont must complete one assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
