American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP unit in New Mexico. The assignment is 13 weeks, full-time night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.

Required certifications include active NM or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN FHM or NCC EFM. Perinatal residency or recent perinatal experience preferred.

• 1 year nursing experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Perinatal RN residency or recent perinatal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• LDRP unit providing labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
• 13-week assignment with night shift 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
• Provides nursing care across the full nursing process.
• Administers medications per protocol and monitors effects.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Addresses psychosocial, cultural, and family needs.
• Educates patients and families; identifies learning needs.
• Complete new nurse orientation within 30 days.
• Onboarding with competency validation.
• Complete annual competency verification.
• Local candidates within 50 miles considered for local rate
• Returning CHRISTUS employees require 6-month separation for travel assignment across CHRISTUS Health System

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only)
• Current NRP certification required
• Current STABLE certification required (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor)
• Current AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) certification required
• 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent perinatal setting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• LDRP unit providing labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
• 13-week assignment with full-time night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Provides nursing care across the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol while monitoring for effectiveness and side effects
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Provides patient and family education, identifying learning needs and resources
• Completes New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire if newly hired
• Precepted onboarding with designated staff member including organizational and Perinatal Services-specific competency validation
• Must complete all annual competency verification requirements
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
• Returning CHRISTUS employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment across the CHRISTUS Health System
