Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Texas. The role requires a valid TX or compact RN license and fetal monitoring certification. BLS, NRP, and ACLS are required, with preference for BSN and perinatal experience.

The position is full-time with a 7PM–7AM schedule. You will provide comprehensive nursing care, document thoroughly, and support patient education while addressing diverse needs of patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in TX or compact
• Current certification in AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Current NRP certification
• Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
• 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery or related specialty preferred
• BSN preferred
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent Perinatal Setting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (7PM-7AM)
• Full-time position
• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Complete New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire if newly hired
• Precepted by a designated trained staff member with completion of organizational and perinatal-specific competency validations
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must be separated for 6 months prior to starting a travel assignment
