Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery/LDRP RN for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in New Mexico. The role requires NM or compact RN licensure and AWHONN FHM or NCC EFM certification, plus BLS/ACLS/NRP.

You will float across locations, provide care from labor to postpartum, with on-call and weekend requirements; housing and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Mexico or compact state.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications from AHA.
• Current certification in AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC EFM (or equivalent).
• Current STABLE certification (Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor).
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred.
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent Perinatal setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• LDRP unit nursing across labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum.
• 13-week night shift assignment, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
• Full time schedule with weekend requirement and on-call.
• Floating across locations and delivering care per nursing process.
• Address patient/family psychological, emotional, cultural and social needs.
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor effects and side effects.
• Document history, symptoms, meds, and care; provide education.
• New hires attend orientation and are precepted; complete competencies.

Responsibilities

• LDRP unit providing care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
• 13-week assignment on night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Full time schedule with weekend requirement
• On-call requirement
• Floating required across locations
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers
• New hires attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days and are precepted by a designated trained staff member
• Completion of organizational and Perinatal Services-specific competency validations required
• Annual competency verification required
• Must reside within 50 miles for local rate consideration
• Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment
