Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery travel position in Tennessee, requiring prior travel experience and a minimum of 2 years in a similar setting.

Responsibilities include 12-hour night shifts, 1:1/1:2/1:6 patient ratios, and weekend coverage. Local candidates may be offered a lower rate; travel rate eligibility follows a 75-mile radius rule.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Skilled in circulating Cesarean Sections, postpartum care, well baby newborn care, and couplet care.
• Experience scrubbing and/or assisting Cesarean Sections preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• 12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a in the L&D/Mother Baby unit.
• Patient population includes pregnancies over 20 weeks and post-op GYN patients of childbearing age.
• Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for early labor without epidural or pitocin, 1:2-3 for antepartum, and 1:6 for mother/baby or well baby care.
• Requires four weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, with Friday and Saturday nights considered weekend shifts.
• May be required to work the Labor Day holiday.
• No floating or charge responsibilities required.
• Provide comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and well baby newborn services.
• Unit is staffed primarily by RNs.
• Scrubs are provided.
• Orientation dates available on 11/2, 11/9, or 11/16.
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate.
• Radius rule of 75 miles applies for travel rate eligibility.
