American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery travel assignment in California. CA RN license and 2 years of L&D experience are required, with certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring.

The unit operates 14 L&D beds with 2 OR suites; 24/7 OB/Neonatologist in house, and on-call expectations. Shifts are day-based with a 3-shift week, weekends every other week, and orientation provided.

Competenze

Active CA RN license required (Standard or Compact/NLC).
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring.
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience.

Mansioni

Care for laboring, antepartum, and triage patients in a high-volume delivery unit.
Triage within the labor and delivery unit and manage 14 L&D beds and 2 OR suites.
Titrate drips (Pitocin, insulin, magnesium) and monitor telemetry.
Operate Cerner EMR with Fetal Link EFM; support OB/Neonatology 24/7.
Provide direct patient care; participate in unit orientation; adhere to AWHONN guidelines.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of current L&D experience.

Requirements

Active CA RN license required, Standard or Compact (NLC)
Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring
Minimum 2 years of current Labor & Delivery experience required
BSN not required for this position
Must be able to pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to offer confirmation
Pass/Fail competency testing on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes required on first day of orientation

Responsibilities

Acute care Labor & Delivery unit with 14 L&D beds and 2 OR suites
Triage conducted within the labor and delivery unit
Average of 3-4 births per day, approximately 1100 births annually
Patient population includes laboring, inductions, cesareans, antepartum with issues, fetal demises, and triage patients 20 weeks or greater
Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
Uses Cerner EMR with Fetal Link EFM system
RNs required to titrate drips including Pitocin, insulin, and magnesium
Pulse ox monitors used routinely, with telemetry monitoring for magnesium patients
OB Tech support available on the unit
OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7
Charge nurse role is typically a free charge position
Day shift schedule, 3 shifts per week
Weekend requirement of one every other weekend
On-call requirement of 1 shift every 2 weeks
No floating required, but assigned as first to float if needed
Provide direct patient care for laboring, antepartum, and triage patients in a high-volume delivery unit
One day of unit-specific orientation provided
Scrubs are light blue and supplied by the facility each shift
Holiday coverage required for 1 major and 2 minor holidays
Candidates who failed Relias or sterile technique testing twice are ineligible for 6 months with this health system
Candidates may not have been directly employed by this health system within the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms will be considered
First-time travelers may be considered for this position
