Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital in Pomona, CA. Expect a patient load of 1:2, with 2 weekends per 6 weeks and potential Friday nights. No on-call and Cerner charting are used.

The role requires CA RN license, BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced, AFM, ACLS, and EFM certifications, plus at least 1 year of experience, vaginal exam and baby care skills. COVID vaccination is required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced (must include all 11 components), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM).
• ACLS and EFM certifications also required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required, though candidates can be screened.
• Vaginal exam ability/experience required.
• Baby care ability/experience required.
• COVID vaccination status required for consideration.
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery/LDRP unit in an acute care hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Weekend requirements of 2 weekends every 6 weeks, with night shift weekends potentially including Fridays.
• No on-call requirements.
• No floating outside of scope required.
• Uses Cerner charting system.
• Handles birth volumes ranging from under 100 to over 300 births annually.

• 412 staffed beds
• Strict dress code: no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, all tattoos must be covered, no visible body piercings other than small earlobe earrings
• No specific scrub color required, but camouflage and character patterns are not allowed
• Free parking available
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Holiday RTO limited to one request, though staff will likely be required to work holidays
• Orientation includes required training modules averaging 3-6 hours depending on specialty
