Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN for Labor and Delivery in New Jersey. Active NJ or Compact RN license and AWHONN Intermediate (or NCC C-EFM) certification are required, with a minimum of 2 years L&D experience.

Meditech charting experience and current ACLS/BLS/NRP are expected. Travel assignment with 3x12 shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, requires hospital-based obstetric care, antepartum to post-partum, and case management in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required.
• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (or NCC C-EFM) certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Meditech charting experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Must pass Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a minimum score of 80% with no retakes permitted.
• Proficiency in EKG rhythm interpretation and fetal monitoring.
• NJ employers in past 7 years must provide verified name, address and phone number.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a high-volume hospital.
• Patient population includes antepartum, L&D, LDRP, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby care.
• Day shift 3×12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Uses Meditech charting system.
• Floating to Ridgewood Observation Unit.
• Provide L&D care including vaginal and high-risk deliveries; circulate for C-sections; recover C-section patients.
• Manage labor interventions such as amnioinfusion, Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and epidural support.
• Perform antepartum assessments including NSTs, sterile vaginal exams, and fetal monitoring.
• Support postpartum care including lactation support and wound care.
• Assist neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring.
• No holiday time off approved around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
• Must begin required lab work within two business days of offer acceptance.
• Prior permanent employees are not eligible for travel roles; first-time travelers not accepted.
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local pay rate.

• Floating required to the Ridgewood Observation Unit for those assigned to this facility or the float pool
• Provide comprehensive L&D care including assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and recovering C-section patients
• Manage labor interventions such as amnioinfusion, Pitocin, magnesium sulfate therapy, and epidural support
• Perform antepartum assessments including NSTs, sterile vaginal exams, and fetal monitoring (external and internal)
• Support postpartum care including lactation support, fundus/lochia checks, and wound care
• Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• No holiday time off approved, including dates surrounding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Must begin required lab work within two business days of offer acceptance
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local pay rate
