Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery with 1 year of L&D experience. Must hold a CO or Compact RN license and current AWHONN Intermediate certification, along with BLS, ACLS, and NRP. Travel nursing experience is preferred.

The role covers night shifts in a 19-bed Women and Infants unit, requires patient safety focus, and proficient use of Epic charting. Candidates with strong patient care skills and the ability to float as needed are invited to apply.

• Floating within the unit and metro region as required; Epic charting used.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 1 year of L&D experience, AWHONN Intermediate certification, and a CO or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Skills in labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care

Responsibilities

• Women's and Infants Labor and Delivery unit with 19 rooms
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) with rotating days of the week
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend and on-call responsibilities required per unit needs
• Floating required within the Women and Infant Unit, and may be required within the metro region per facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• Navy scrubs required
• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk deliveries
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Perform fetal monitoring and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Provide newborn care immediately following delivery
• Complete facility-specific training modules within the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Maximum 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during peak census times
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Candidates previously employed by the health system or its affiliates must disclose this information
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate if residing within 75 miles of the facility
