Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN with LDRP and Nursery experience for a day shift. An active IL RN license is required to apply.

The unit handles 140 deliveries per month with potential to reach the 160s; shift is 7:00-19:00 (3x12 or 4x12). Travel-friendly with housing allowance and licensure reimbursements is offered.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
• AWHONN, STABLE, or Fetal Heart Monitoring certification preferred.
• Experience drawing venous blood, starting and maintaining IVs, and administering blood/blood products.
• Infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring experience.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Level 2 Special Care Nursery experience preferred.
• Scrubbing, circulating, and recovering C-sections preferred.
• Experience triaging obstetrical patients and fetal monitoring preferred.
• Magnesium sulfate and Pitocin management preferred.
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit (LDRP) and Nursery.
• Care for Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Gyn patients, Gestational HTN, DM, and Multi-Birth cases.
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3.
• Unit performs circumcisions, newborn screens, C-sections, and inductions of labor.
• Unit averages 140 deliveries per month; may increase to the 160s.
• Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6-7 nurses, and 1 scrub nurse per shift.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:00).
• Required to work one Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday every 4 weeks.
• No on-call requirements.
• EPIC charting system preferred.
• Provide care across antepartum, labor and delivery, newborn, and postpartum stages.
• Resuscitation, APGAR scoring, cord care, and newborn assessments.
• Support postpartum recovery including fundus/lochia/perineum care and breastfeeding.
• Assist with pain management including epidural, PCA, and nitrous oxide.
• Must shave for Fit Testing mask seal; no exemptions; CAPRs/PAPRs not permitted.
• Candidates living within 70 miles are considered local and not accepted.
• Travelers cannot work more than 1 year as a traveler without a 6-month break.
• First-time travelers considered.

• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Level 2 Special Care Nursery experience preferred
• Experience scrubbing, circulating, and recovering C-sections preferred
• Experience with triage of obstetrical patients and external/internal fetal monitoring preferred
• Experience managing Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin administration preferred
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• Provide care across antepartum, labor and delivery, newborn, and postpartum stages
• Responsibilities may include neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, cord care, and newborn assessments
• Support postpartum recovery including fundus/lochia/perineum care and breastfeeding support
• Assist with pain management including epidural, PCA, and nitrous oxide administration
• Must shave for proper Fit Testing mask seal; no medical or religious exemptions accepted and CAPRs/PAPRs are not permitted
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted for this position
• Clinicians cannot work more than 1 year as a traveler without taking a required 6-month break before returning
• First-time travelers considered
