Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 12-week travel assignment in Texas. Requires active TX license, BLS/NRP/EFM, and intermediate/advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.

Responsibilities include working in a 14-bed L&D unit, 2 ORs, and 8 antepartum beds with 1:2/1:4 patient ratios. Shift from 7:00 AM–7:00 PM; weekend rotation and OB floating required.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS, NRP, and Intermittent EFM certifications required
• AWHONN fetal monitoring certification (intermediate or advanced) or NCCEFM required
• NRP Advanced 9th Edition current card from the American Academy of Pediatrics
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Labor management experience required
• Experience circulating in L&D OR preferred
• US SSN and DOB required; no Canadian SSN
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 14 labor beds, 2 ORs, 6 recovery bays, 8 antepartum beds
• Staffed with charge nurses, RNs, and CSTs on day and night shifts
• Patient ratios of 1:2 for labor and 1:4 for antepartum
• Uses GE EFM and CPN monitoring equipment
• Charting performed in Meditech/Centricity Perinatal
• Supports vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, bilateral tubal ligations, D&C, uterine tamponade devices, and magnesium/pitocin drip titration
• Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Rotating weekend coverage required
• Floating to Antepartum and Postpartum (OB assignment only) required
• Provide direct patient care across labor, delivery, antepartum, and OR circulation as needed
• Positive, compassionate, and flexible personality fit preferred
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• One professional reference required for consideration
