American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Indiana. This travel assignment requires a current IN license, 2+ years of L&D experience, and certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM.

Cerner charting experience is required, with a focus on high-acuity obstetric care. The role features 2x12-hour day shifts, on-call every third weekend, and floating to nearby hospitals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Labor & Delivery unit duties in a short-term acute care hospital
• Day shift: 2x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Follow staffing guidelines (1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active, up to 1:3 triage)
• Manage labor, induction, C-sections (including specific cases) and antepartum/triage patients
• Operate with monitoring and delivery equipment (epidural pumps, monitors)
• MCH float and on-call every 3rd weekend
• Floating to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Provide comprehensive L&D care incl. postpartum management
• Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries; circulating responsibilities
• Support neonatal care incl. APGAR scoring and resuscitation
• Newborn care incl. assessment, phototherapy, discharge teaching
• Manage high-acuity conditions (HELLP, preeclampsia, VBAC)
• RTO 5 days or less auto-approved; facility approval for more
• Must be willing to work major holidays and travel

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and current NRP/FHM certification.

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM
• Cerner charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• Nursing degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule, 2x12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines, typically 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for non-active labor, and up to 1:3 for triage or antepartum patients
• Handles labor, induction, scheduled and unscheduled C-sections, C-section with salpingectomy, SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, and antenatal/triage patients
• Uses CADD epidural pumps, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips wired/wireless monitoring, Periwatch, Hillrom labor beds, Draeger Radiant warmers, vein light, and v-scan
• MCH float required
• On-call required every 3rd weekend
• Floating required to affiliate hospitals nearby as needed
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum management
• Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries, including circulating and recovering C-section patients
• Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal resuscitation
• Provide newborn care including newborn assessment, phototherapy, and discharge teaching to parents
• Manage high-acuity conditions such as HELLP syndrome, preeclampsia/eclampsia, preterm labor, and VBAC/trial of labor
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
