Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a rotating day/night assignment in Greensburg, PA. Requires active PA/compact RN license, 2+ years L&D, and certifications including AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, and NRP; AHA certifications accepted.

Experience with Cerner EMR and prior charge nurse roles are preferred. Travel with housing allowance, competitive pay, and per diem offered; must reside >50 miles away and be willing to work holidays.

Qualifications

• Active PA or Compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP; AWHONN Advanced preferred.
• AHA certifications accepted.
• Cerner EMR experience preferred.
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred.
• Two supervisor references preferred.
• DL, SSN, and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
• Facility delivers approximately 200-300 births per month.
• Perform vaginal exams, assist with vaginal deliveries, and circulate for C-sections.
• Start IVs, draw blood, and assist newborn stabilization using NRP skills.
• Manage postpartum hemorrhage and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
• Rotating 3x12 Day (7:00-19:30) and Night (19:00-7:30) shifts.
• Floating within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius.
• Cerner EMR experience preferred.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible.
• Local candidates not accepted.
• Must be willing to work every other holiday.
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs within 24-48 hours of signing.
• First 8 hours of orientation non-billable with ~1 hour pre-start modules.
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible.
• Travel pairs considered based on facility need; schedules may not be guaranteed.
