Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position on night shift requiring critical access hospital experience and WA or compact RN license.

Night shift is 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with 1:2 patient ratio in a small facility; Cerner charting is used. Open to local candidates and first-time travelers, with supportive housing and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required.
• BLS and NRP certifications required (NRP may be obtained after offer but before start).
• ACLS certification required.
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Critical access hospital experience required.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Two professional references required in specialty.
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, vaccine administration, newborn care and assessment, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and postpartum vaginal delivery care.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 3 LD rooms plus 1 triage room.
• Low-volume facility with under 100 births per month and approximately 20 deliveries monthly.
• Postpartum patients transferred to acute care.
• 1:2 patient ratio.
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No call requirements.
• Floating required as needed within scope of practice.
• Cerner charting system experience required.
• Block scheduling available.
• Provide labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care including newborn assessment and care.
• Start and maintain IVs and administer vaccines as needed.
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction.
• First-time travelers welcome to apply.
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to return as a traveler.
