Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Travel Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery in Frederick, Maryland. The assignment is 13 weeks long with a night schedule of 19:00-07:30, 4x12 hours, 48 hours per week. Start date is October 7, 2026, with 1 opening and rotating holidays.

OB triage experience and MD or compact RN license are required. Unit features 14 L&D rooms, OB Triage, operating rooms, PACU, and a 1:1–2 patient ratio.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience.
• Active MD RN license or compact RN license at time of consideration.
• OB Triage experience required; fetal monitoring certification preferred (C-EFM or AWHONN).
• BLS and NRP certifications required; ACLS & AWHONN Advanced preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric care from 20 weeks gestation through 6 weeks postpartum.
• Manage Labor & Delivery unit with 1:1–2 patient ratios and C-section support.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring MD or compact licensure, prior travel experience, and OB triage expertise.

Details

• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Rotating holidays and weekends required
• Block scheduling not available
• Must work two of the three winter holidays
• Labor & Delivery unit providing comprehensive obstetric care from 20 weeks gestation through 6 weeks postpartum
• Unit includes 14 Labor & Delivery rooms, OB Triage Unit, OB Operating Rooms, and OB PACU
• Newly expanded unit with five brand-new Labor & Delivery rooms featuring state-of-the-art equipment
• Patient ratio of 1:1-2
• Preferred charting system is Meditech

Requirements

• Active MD RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of current, strong Labor & Delivery RN experience
• OB Triage experience required
• Active fetal monitoring certification required: C-EFM preferred, or AWHONN Intermediate accepted with C-EFM required if contract extensions reach or exceed 1 year
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced
• Preferred experience in teaching and community hospital settings
• Skilled in Labor and Delivery management and circulating for C-sections
• Proof of residency must match candidate's licensure
