American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with an AZ or compact license for a night shift assignment requiring at least 5 years of recent L&D experience.

The role covers L&D, postpartum and newborn care in a BFHI environment, requires 12-hour night shifts with possible day shifts, weekends, and holidays. Certifications include BLS/ACLS or ALSO, NRP, and FHM (or RNC-EFM). Housing near the facility is limited.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or compact RN license required.
• Minimum of 5 years of recent Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn care experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS or ALSO certification required.
• NRP certification required.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or RNC-EFM substitution allowed.

Responsibilities

• Cover Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn rooms with BFHI rooming-in practices.
• Unit averages 40 deliveries and 6 C-sections per month.
• 12-hour night shift with flexibility for day shifts, weekends and holidays.
• May serve as charge nurse after training.
• Float to other departments as needed and assist with call lights and phones.
• Provide direct nursing care across L&D, Postpartum and Newborn settings.
• Support BFHI practices including mother–baby rooming-in.
• Housing near the facility is limited.

• Current BLS and ACLS or ALSO certification required
• NRP certification required
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification required, or RNC-EFM may be substituted

Responsibilities

• Work in the Obstetrics Unit covering Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn rooms with Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) rooming-in practices
• Unit averages 40 deliveries and 6 C-sections per month
• 12-hour night shift schedule with flexibility to work day shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
• May occasionally serve as charge nurse after completing charge nurse training
• Float to other departments as needed, which may include taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones
• Provide direct nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn settings
• Support BFHI practices including rooming-in with mothers
• Housing availability is limited near the facility
