American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night assignment in Chandler, AZ. The role requires C-section and Cerner charting experience, active AZ or Compact RN license, and 4+ years of RN experience.

Responsibilities include managing high-acuity L&D care in a Level II setting with 18 LDRP beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, and 24/7 support from hospital teams; night shift 7pm-7am; travel compensation with housing and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

Active AZ or Compact RN license
Minimum 4 years of RN experience
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
Experience circulating and recovering C-sections
Cerner charting experience
Ability to titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate per protocol
Dysrhythmia exam with ≥80% score required
Sterile technique simulation lab day one
Driver's license copy required

Responsibilities

Acute care Labor and Delivery unit with 18 LDRP beds, 14 OB triage beds, and 8 Antepartum beds
Unit averages 8–10 deliveries per day and includes 2 OR suites for C-sections
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 2:1 (Antepartum up to 4:1, C-sections 1:1)
Uses Cerner EMR and Fetal Link EFM system
Night shift 19:00–07:00
Requires 4 weekend shifts per schedule
Floating to Mother Baby/Postpartum as needed
On-call is voluntary
Holiday coverage if available
Week-long floor orientation
Care for laboring and preterm patients (≥28 weeks) in Level II facility
Level 1 Trauma Center with OB Hospitalist and 24/7 support

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring C-section and Cerner charting experience.

Requirements

Active AZ or Compact RN license required
Minimum 4 years of RN experience required
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP
Must have experience circulating and recovering C-sections
Computer charting experience required, Cerner preferred
Must be able to titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate per protocol
Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% prior to offer confirmation
Must pass a Pass/Fail sterile technique simulation lab on day one of orientation
Driver's license copy required for consideration

Care for laboring and preterm pregnant patients, including gestations 28 weeks and greater as a Level II facility
Level 1 Trauma Center setting with OB Hospitalist in-house and 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, Anesthesia, and Pharmacy support
13 charge nurses support the unit
Scrub color is blue, though scrubs are not required for L&D
Patients are transferred to Postpartum after delivery
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Candidates must not have been directly employed by any facility within the health system in the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
