Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk perinatal unit in Washington. The role requires 2+ years of L&D experience, active WA license, and perinatal certifications. Travel-ready candidates are welcome, with strict local-radius exclusions and holiday shift coverage.

The unit supports 19 L&D beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, multiple ORs, PACU bays, and a triage area. Epic EMR is used for charting and documentation.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, following AWHONN standards.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring.
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred.
• Required skills include IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, labor and delivery management, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and circulating for C-sections.
• Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams (SVE) as a hardstop requirement.
• Experience with fetal monitoring and recognizing abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Experience in facilities handling 200+ deliveries preferred; 100-200 will be considered.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required.
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30.
• High-risk perinatal unit with 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, and 30 postpartum beds.
• Unit includes 3 ORs, 2 PACU bays, and a 7-bay triage area.
• Facility handles 200-300 deliveries per month.
• Target staffing ratios of 1:1 in labor, 1:3 couplets in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum.
• Triage staffed with 3 RNs per shift, supported by surgical techs, CNAs, CRNAs, and HUCs.
• Weekend work required.
• Floating to Postpartum and possibly to sister facilities within the state.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Scrub color is flexible (except reddish-orange).
• Facility provides parking at no cost.
• Must commit to 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day.
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be accommodated.
• First-time travelers welcome; travel experience not required.
• Local candidates not accepted (50-mile radius rule).
• Former permanent staff must wait 3 months before returning as travel clinician and must not be within 50 miles.

• Local candidates are not accepted, with a 50-mile radius rule in place
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel clinician and must not be within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
