Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an L&D position in California. CA RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience are required, along with ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications.

The role involves labor, delivery, postpartum and neonatal care, plus fetal monitoring and support for vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Epic EMR is used for charting; travel and housing allowances may apply.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required at time of consideration.
• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred) certifications.
• Minimum 1 year Labor and Delivery experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn care.
• Perform fetal monitoring and assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries; neonatal resuscitation support.
• 3x12 hour day shifts (7:00–19:00); every other weekend and on-call as needed.
• Float to Med-Surg and Orthopedics as needed; use Epic EMR for charting.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring CA license and at least 1 year of L&D experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills in labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, neonatal care, and postpartum care required
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 7 rooms/14 beds and an average daily census of 10
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Float required to Med-Surg and Ortho units as needed
• Call required depending on patient census
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Perform fetal monitoring, assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and provide neonatal resuscitation support
• Scrub color required: royal blue
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days
• First-time travelers considered, though a seasoned traveler is preferred
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Former Providence employees may return after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
