Job summary
American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for Labor & Delivery in Dubuque, IA. Night shifts are 3x12 hours, 36 hours per week, with start ASAP for a 13-week assignment.
Requires 24 months L&D experience, IA license, BLS/ACLS, NRP, EFM, STABLE, and Epic EMR proficiency. Travel nursing experience and ability to work every third weekend are expected. Competitive weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.
Qualifications
- Active IA or compact/multistate RN license required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required.
- NRP certification required.
- Intermediate or Advanced EFM (electronic fetal monitoring) certification required.
- STABLE certification required.
- Minimum 24 months of Labor & Delivery experience required.
- Travel nursing experience within the last 15 months required.
- Epic EMR experience required.
- Experience administering glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin required.
- Nursery/Mother-Baby or NICU experience preferred.
- Driver's license required for consideration.
- Professional reference from a supervisor within the last 24 months preferred.
Responsibilities
- Care for antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU patient populations.
- Administers medication drips and titrations including glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin.
- Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
- Floating required based on patient care needs.
- Uses Epic EMR.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 24 months of L&D experience, IA or compact license, and current travel experience.
- Maternity/OB unit with 16 maternity beds, 12 nursery beds, 4 NICU beds, and 1 C-section suite
- Cares for antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU patient populations
- Patient ratios of 1:1 in labor, 1:2 in postpartum, and 2:1 in NICU
- Level 2 maternal/neonatal center with a delivery volume of 50-60 births per month
- Administers medication drips and titrations including glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin
- Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Required to work every third weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required based on patient care needs
- Uses Epic EMR

- Required to work 1-2 of the 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless the unit is closed
- Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) may be restricted from working travel assignments in other UPH markets
