Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment in South Carolina. Requires 2 years of L&D experience and AWHONN Intermediate certification, along with an active SC or compact RN license. Night shifts are 3x12 hours (19:00–07:00) with a 1:2 patient ratio and Meditech EMR usage.

Additional certifications required: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP; ACLS preferred. Travel housing allowances and per diem may apply.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Maternal obstetric, well newborn and postpartum care
• Assists high risk and premature deliveries with respiratory support and resuscitation
• Antepartum triage nursing
• OR circulator for Cesarean sections
• Floating within the hospital in rotation with staff
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting

• Provides maternal obstetric care, well newborn care, and postpartum/couplet care


• Attends high risk and premature deliveries with respiratory support and resuscitation


• Performs antepartum triage nursing


• Serves as OR circulator for Cesarean sections


• Floating required within the hospital in rotation with staff


• Must reside within a 50 mile radius of the facility


• Local candidates not accepted under the local rate rule


• Expected to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff


• First-time travelers are welcome to apply


• Previous charge experience preferred


• Facility does not accept candidates with felony background hits or licensure actions


• Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure


• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start with minimal to no time off requested, preferably none in the first weeks
