Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Texas. The role requires High Risk OB experience and advanced fetal monitoring certification. The facility features 12 LDR beds, 5 Ante Partum beds, 4 OBED beds and 3 OR rooms, with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Candidates must hold an active TX license, KLS/BLS/ACLS/NRP and CPI, and AWHONN fetal monitoring certification. Minimum 1 year L&D experience; 2–3 years in High Risk OB preferred.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) and CPI certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience
• Minimum 2-3 years of High Risk OB experience preferred
• Experience with massive transfusion and PASD preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two for FL and MO)

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with multiple beds and OB services
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratios 1:2 and 1:1 based on transition and acuity
• Operate Alaris and CADD epidural pumps
• EMR systems: CPN and Meditech
• No call requirements
• Self-scheduling within team
• Perform C-sections, D&Cs, and high-risk obstetric procedures
• Provide direct patient care to high-risk obstetric patients

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Labor and Delivery
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in High Risk OB preferred
• Experience with massive transfusion and PASD (placenta accreta spectrum disorders) preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO candidates)

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 12 LDR beds, 5 Ante Partum beds, 4 OBED beds, and 3 OR rooms
• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratios of 1:2 and 1:1, adjusted based on transition status and acuity
• Uses Alaris pumps and CADD epidural pumps

• 4 weekend shifts required per scheduling period
• Self-scheduling model among team members
• Unit performs C-sections, SVD, D&C, D&E, twin deliveries, scheduled and emergent C-Hysterectomy, and massive transfusion procedures
• Provide direct patient care to high-risk obstetric patients across labor, delivery, and surgical settings
• Facility is a Level II Trauma ED serving obstetrical patients with Level I and II injuries
• Maternal Designation Level III and Neonatal Level II, both advancing to next accreditation steps
• Joint Commission accredited in Women's Services
• Highly engaged, team-oriented staff with a mix of tenured and newer nurses on both shifts
• Management team actively rounds on night shift and weekend teams
• Physicians maintain strong engagement and relationships with nursing staff
• CST staff required to wear sky blue scrubs
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
