Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week contract in Texas. Requires 2+ years of L&D experience and active fetal monitoring certification. The unit is high-volume Level IV with Meditech EMR and multiple specialized tools.

Shifts are 7:00 AM–7:00 PM with day/night options and alternating weekends; 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios as needed. Travel assignment, housing allowance, and licensure reimbursements provided.

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications required.
• AWHONN fetal monitoring certification required.
• Minimum 2 years Labor and Delivery experience.
• SVE competency and C-section circulation experience required.
• Internal monitor placement competency preferred.
• HCA assignment or employment preferred.
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for laboring and delivering patients, accommodating 1:1 or 1:2 ratios as needed.
• Staff 32-bed L&D unit with ~150 staff; participate in shift rotations (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) and alternating weekends.
• Assist with SVD, cerclages, C‑Sections, and TOLAC; operate with Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and ultrasound equipment.
• Documentation in Meditech EMR; collaborate with charge and co-charge nurses across day and night shifts.
• Must adhere to unit attendance policies and dress code (navy scrubs; solid colors only).
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered.
• First-time traveler consideration possible.

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), and AWHONN intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring (STABLE)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• SVE competency and C-Section circulation experience required
• Internal monitor placement competency preferred
• Previous HCA assignment or employment preferred
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• 32-bed Labor and Delivery unit with approximately 150 staff
• Day and night shifts available, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Alternating weekend schedule required
• No on-call requirements
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Staffing includes charge and co-charge nurses on both day and night shifts
• Procedures performed include SVD, cerclages, C-Sections, and TOLAC
