American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position in Texas. A TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience are required. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC/TCAR are expected, with 2+ years ICU experience.

The role includes 4x12-hour night shifts (7 pm–7 am), 36–48 hours weekly, and a patient load of 1:2–3, with float coverage to MS/Tele/ER as needed. Travel incentives and comprehensive benefits offered.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift critical care position requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC or TCAR
• 6 hours total of stroke education required (can be provided if needed)
• EKG course completion required (can be provided if needed)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous sedation, and neuromuscular blockade
• Experience with CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, EVD, and post-neurosurgical care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ failure care
• Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings preferred
• Experience with post cardiac surgery, cardiac cath/intervention, sheath removal, and TAVR preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7 pm to 7 am
• 36 or 48 hours per week considered
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Required to float to MS/Tele and ER units for critical care holds
• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex medical and surgical needs
• Facility conducts its own drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive drug screen, including CBD products
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted with candidate profile
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role due to required travel experience
