Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Kansas. Requires KS or compact RN licensure, and ICU experience with drips titration experience.

You will work 12-hour nights (36 hours/week) in a 10-bed ICU, with self/scheduled blocks and weekend rotations. Responsibilities include charting in EPIC EMR, patient care in critical care, possible floats to PCU/Stepdown, and 24/7 coverage by hospitalists and respiratory therapy.

Qualifications

• Active KS or Compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required.
• Prior ICU experience preferred; unit reopening.
• Experience titrating drips (vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics).
• Driver's license copy required.

Responsibilities

• ICU with 10 beds; 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• EPIC EMR used for charting; 12-hour night shifts; 36 hours/week.
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling with weekend rotations (6 weekends per 6 weeks).
• Holiday coverage required; may float to PCU/Stepdown or MS-Tele.
• May be utilized as a CNA if needed; charge nurse assigns patient load.
• 24/7 hospitalist/intensivist and respiratory therapy coverage available.
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow, ventilators; telemetry with tele tech support.

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior ICU experience required; seasoned ICU RNs preferred due to unit reopening
• Experience titrating drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, and other specialized/metabolic drips
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care ICU setting with 10 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available, with required participation in weekend rotation (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
• Holiday coverage required
• May float to other acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele, and potentially within Zone 4
• Could be utilized as a CNA if needed
• Charge nurse on the unit takes a patient assignment
• 24/7 in-house hospitalist/intensivist and respiratory therapy coverage
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and ventilators
• Telemetry monitoring (GE monitors) supported by a dedicated tele tech 24/7
• Provide direct patient care for ICU patients with diagnoses including abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, extremity pain, and insulin drips
• Titrate medication drips as part of daily responsibilities
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Unit-specific orientation date and location assigned during orientation week
• Candidates should expect to be in-state for orientation week even if initial modules are remote
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• Float radius policy applies, requiring travelers to secure housing that allows them to float within their assigned zone
• First-time travelers may be considered given seasoned ICU experience requirement
