Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel position in New Jersey. Requires NJ or compact RN license, BLS and ACLS, and at least 1 year of ICU experience. Perks include competitive pay, benefits, and travel opportunities.

The nurse will work 7p-7a in a hospital ICU, with on-call duties, floating to affiliate facilities, and use of Epic EMR for charting. Local candidates may be considered for a lower rate.

Qualifications

• Active NJ or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Epic EMR experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital environment.
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week.
• On-call responsibilities required.
• Floating required, including to a nearby sister hospital.
• Uses Epic EMR for charting.
• 1 minor and 1 major holiday coverage required.
• 3-4 weekends required in a 4-week period.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across the lifespan from pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Deliver competent clinical care and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care and patient progress.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques.
• Support a patient- and family-centered care environment while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative assessment, education, and support for surgical patients.
• Accepts local candidates at a lower rate.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
