Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU travel assignment in Michigan. Requires 3+ years ICU experience and at least one prior travel assignment. Active MI RN license, BLS, ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, and ACLS copy are required. Night shifts are 7:00 PM–7:30 AM with a 36-hour guarantee and every other weekend.

The role may involve floating to CVICU. Cerner EMR is used; strict attendance policy applies and local candidates within 35 miles may receive a reduced travel rate.

• Compact license not accepted.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS.
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required.
• Completion of at least one prior travel assignment required.
• Copy of ACLS certification required for consideration.
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required.
• Michigan license verification through LARA and Nursys required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU of a 288-bed acute care hospital and trauma center.
• ICU patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity, Step Down is 1:3.
• May float to CVICU.
• Uses Cerner EMR.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12s (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) with 36-hour guarantee.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• Deliver quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients and plan individualized care.
• Evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions and adjust care accordingly.
• Navy blue scrub dress code.
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted.
• Candidates within a 35-mile radius of the facility are considered local travelers with reduced travel rate.
• Former full-time McLaren employees are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment end date.
• Facility enforces a strict attendance policy allowing no more than two absences or late arrivals before termination.
