Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ICU RN for assignments in IMC and ICU units with Cerner charting experience and prior travel history.

The role requires active MD or compact license, current ACLS/BLS/NIHSS, and travel experience. You will work 3x12 shifts, with every-other weekend, on-site at facilities within Maryland area; local candidates within 60 miles may receive a lower pay rate.

Qualifications

• Active RN license: Compact or MD license required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience within the last 7 years.
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment.
• Cerner charting system experience required.
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms.
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years.
• Flu vaccine required.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based ICU and IMC (Intermediate Care) unit assignment.
• 3x12 Day and Night shift options (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30).
• Every other weekend required, totaling 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) in a six-week period.
• Uses Cerner EMR system.
• Provide critical care nursing across both ICU and IMC units.
• Skills utilized include IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management.
• Respiratory care skills include ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube care, and ABG interpretation.
• Cardiac monitoring responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams.
• Additional clinical focus areas include wound care, IV insulin protocols, post cardiac catheterization care, and renal/dialysis management.
• Candidates with previous MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler.
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract.
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate.
• First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment is required.
