Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an RN for ICU travel assignment in New Jersey. Requires NJ or compact RN license and at least 1 year ICU experience. BLS/ACLS, nursing degree, and strong patient education skills are expected. Will float across ICUs and to nearby sister hospitals as needed.

The role runs 36 hours per week on three 12-hour shifts (7p–7a). No on-call requirements. Epic EMR experience and commitment to safety and HIPAA are essential. Local candidates are accepted.

Qualifications

• Active NJ or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Proficient in pre/post-operative assessments and patient education
• Knowledge of documentation guidelines and NP safety goals
• Safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics

Responsibilities

• ICU care within a hospital setting
• PM shift, 7p–7a, 36 hours per week across three 12‑hour shifts
• Float to Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, PACU, Cardiac PACU, CCU, Med/Surg Step Down, Neurovascular and Cardiac Step Down
• Possible float to a nearby sister hospital
• No on-call requirements
• Use Epic EMR for charting
• Perform comprehensive, systematic patient assessments across all ages
• Deliver competent clinical care and support emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain complete and accurate nursing documentation
• Uphold HIPAA and patient confidentiality
• Promote a patient- and family-centered care environment
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol
• Provide individualized care based on procedure type and anesthesia
• Prioritize patient care based on condition and needs
• Support Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders
• Holiday coverage for one winter and one summer holiday
• Local candidates accepted
• Travelers may remain up to one year with required break before return

• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing care and patient progress
• Uphold professional practice standards and patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines
• Promote a positive, patient- and family-centered care environment
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and two-patient identifier verification
• Provide individualized care based on procedure type and anesthesia across the care continuum
• Assume responsibility for prioritizing patient care based on condition and needs
