Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment in New Mexico. Must hold an active NM (or compact) RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, and have travel nursing experience. 1 year ICU required; 3+ years preferred. Meets 75-mile residency rule; first-time travelers welcome.

Responsibilities include 3x12 hour nights (19:00-7:00), 1:2 nurse-patient ratio, and no float to other units. EMR: Evident. Generous housing allowance and travel reimbursement offered.

Qualifications

• Active NM or compact RN license required (must be in hand before start).
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NRP, PALS, TNCC preferred.
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience; 3+ years preferred (2.5+ years considered).
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Experience with IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration.
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning.
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and managing continuous IV sedation and paralytics.
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition.
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and infection prevention/isolation precautions.
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred.
• Two professional references required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• ICU setting providing critical care to adult patients.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00).
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• No floating required to other units or affiliate hospitals.
• Uses Evident EMR system.
• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients, including hemodynamic monitoring and management of complex multisystem conditions.
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility.
• Local candidates are not accepted.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Return travelers accepted if more than 6 months have passed since their last assignment.
• Zero tolerance policy for marijuana use, including THC testing positive resulting in contract cancellation.
• Free on-site parking is available.
• Block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
