Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Indiana. Requires an active IN license (or Compact), BLS/ACLS/ NIHSS, and at least 2 years of acute inpatient ICU experience with Epic EMR proficiency.

The role involves working on a 12-bed ICU unit with variable patient ratios, managing ventilators and critical therapies, and providing patient/family education. Shift is 06:45–19:15, 36 hours/week, with every-other weekend as needed; Galaxy Blue scrubs required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for a 12-bed ICU unit with varying patient ratios (1:1 to 3:1).
• Monitor ventilators and telemetry; titrate Propofol and Fentanyl and vasopressors.
• Perform patient assessments and develop plans of care with the team.
• Daily rounds and unit rounds; mentor/preceptor to staff.
• Coordinate discharge planning and family education.

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2 years of acute inpatient ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient ICU RN experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
• Epic EMR experience required

Responsibilities

• 12-bed ICU unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratios vary by acuity: 1:1 for TTM/CRRT/IABP patients, 2:1, and 3:1 for stepdown patients
• Top diagnoses include respiratory, renal, and cardiac conditions
• Utilizes CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Arctic Sun, and ECHO equipment
• Manages ventilators, telemetry monitoring, and titrates medications including Propofol, Fentanyl, and pressors
• Day shift schedule from 06:45-19:15
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Every other weekend required per unit need
• Charge RN present on each shift
• Perform patient assessments and reassessments per policy and as warranted by patient condition
• Develop, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Monitor and document patient response to clinical interventions
• Provide patient and family education specific to care needs and discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and function as a mentor/preceptor
• Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts
• Supportive team environment with a strong precepting culture
• Daily rounds conducted on the unit
• Galaxy Blue scrubs required
