Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department position in Texas. 2+ years ER experience and Epic proficiency are required, with ACLS/BLS/NIHSS/PALS certs, TNCC preferred.

Night shifts 3x12s, 19:00-7:30, in a STEMI/Stroke-certified community hospital. Active TX or compact RN license is needed along with good trauma, cardiac, neuro and shock management skills.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience
• Epic charting experience required
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS certifications required
• TNCC preferred
• Military-issued certifications accepted, ARC not accepted
• Experience managing trauma, shock, cardiac, neuro, resp, and psych emergencies
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency meds administration
• Experience with triage, PPE/isolation precautions, and orthopedic splinting
• State-issued ID, SSN, and DOB required

Responsibilities

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
• Community hospital setting
• STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic EMR
• Manage emergencies including trauma, cardiac events, stroke, respiratory distress, and psych crises
• Provide care for pediatric and adult patients including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, seizures, infections
• Perform EKG interpretation, splinting, and management of ventilated/intubated patients
• Administer and monitor continuous IV meds, vasopressors, and sedation
• Identify and report neglect/abuse signs
• Local candidates within 90 miles accepted at lower rate
• RTO limited to 5 non-consecutive days, only one holiday RTO Nov-Jan
• First-time travelers not considered
