Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Texas. This 13-week contract requires a minimum of 2 years in ER, active TX license or compact license, andTNCC/NIHSS certifications. Night shifts 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with every-other-weekend rotation.

Bonuses, RN rewards, and travel-related benefits accompany this assignment, including housing allowances and licensure reimbursement. Applicants must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Qualifications

  • Active TX RN license or compact license required (temporary license not accepted).
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience.
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS.
  • CEN certification preferred; Meditech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting.
  • 13-week contract assignment.
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Every other weekend rotation.
  • Call requirements apply.
  • Floating required as needed per hospital floating policy.
  • Uses Meditech documentation system.
  • Provide emergency department nursing care across a variety of acute conditions including stroke, cardiac, and behavioral health cases.
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted.
  • Navy scrubs required for RNs (white, navy, or black undershirts/jackets only).
  • Nail policy prohibits acrylics, requires nails under 1/4 inch, clean and unchipped polish.
  • Hair must be worn off the shoulders and in a natural color.
  • Visible piercings other than ear piercings are prohibited.
  • Body art should be covered whenever feasible.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and TNCC/NIHSS certifications.

Requirements
  • Active TX RN license or compact license required (temporary license not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS
  • CEN certification preferred
  • Meditech experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills preferred
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Responsibilities
  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

  • Unit performs conscious sedation, participates in intubations, behavioral health watch, sepsis care, stroke care with tPA administration, and chest pain/heart alert protocols
  • Provide emergency department nursing care across a variety of acute conditions including stroke, cardiac, and behavioral health cases
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
  • Navy scrubs required for RNs (white, navy, or black undershirts/jackets only)
