Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department travel assignment in Louisiana. The ideal candidate will hold an active compact or LA RN license and have ER experience, with BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI certifications.

This role involves treating both adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced ED. You'll work 3x12 hour night shifts (18:45–07:15), with a focus on safety, isolation precautions, and seamless coverage during facility emergencies.

Qualifications

• RN with an active compact or LA license in hand.
• Minimum 2 years ER experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI certifications.
• Experience with neurological conditions and CVA.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE.
• Driver's license required.
• Up-to-date NURSYS report within 4 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Treat general Emergency Department patients (adult and pediatric).
• Approximately 55 visits per day across 15 beds.
• Patient ratio 1:4.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15).
• No call-in requirement.
• May be assigned to Emergency Team during facility emergencies and stay onsite until relief arrives.
• Provide emergency nursing care across a mixed adult/pediatric population.
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• Two Manager/Supervisor references required.
• Willing to work 2 of 4 designated holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s.
• Scrub color: royal blue.
• Orientation held 5 days a week.
• First-time travelers are welcome.
• Former staff or in-house contractors must be separated for 1 year before returning as traveler.
• All requested RTO must be listed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission.

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI (AHA certifications required)
• Experience with neurological conditions, CVA, and administration of emergency medications
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Up-to-date NURSYS report (within 4 weeks) required for consideration
