Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced ER RN for a night shift in Missouri’s Emergency Department, requiring 2+ years of ER experience and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications. This travel assignment features a 3x12 hour night schedule and a 1:4 adult/pediatric nurse-to-patient ratio.

Candidates must hold an active MO RN license with travel nursing experience and EPIC charting proficiency. The role has no on-call duties and requires navy scrubs and respirator-fit compliance.

Qualifications

  • Active MO nursing license or compact license required.
  • Certifications ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS required; CPI/TNCC preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required.
  • Prior travel nursing experience required.
  • EPIC charting experience required.
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation.
  • Experience with trauma and shock patients, including gunshot wounds.
  • Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
  • Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE.
  • Experience with pediatric emergency conditions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acute care hospital Emergency Department, adult/pediatric combined.
  • STEMI and Stroke certified facility.
  • Patient ratio of 1:4.
  • Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 1745-0615.
  • Every third weekend and every other holiday required.
  • No on-call responsibilities.
  • No floating required outside of scope.
  • Uses EPIC charting system.
  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population.
  • Manage a range of emergency conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and traumatic injuries.
  • Perform procedures such as IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration.
  • Administer emergency medications and IV vasopressors as needed.
  • Support patients requiring procedural sedation and ventilator care.
  • Navy scrub color required.
  • Must be clean‑shaven or have facial hair compatible with respirator fit testing.
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
  • Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility.
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation.
  • Returning travelers must complete an 18-month assignment period followed by a 3-month break in service.
  • Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler.
  • Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis.
